Manuel Uribe of Monterey, Mexico, is probably the heaviest person in the world. Probably weighs about 550 kg (1,200 lb) - probably because not only is not a scale that can weigh:
Manuel Uribe, bedridden for the last five years, can not stand alone and will need a special flight to take him from Monterrey, Mexico to Modena, where a surgical team has offered to perform an intestinal bypass free .
"I can not walk. I can not leave my bed," the 40-year-old Uribe, who weighs the same as five baby elephants, said in a recent telephone interview.

Manuel was born on June 11, 1965 Mexico (Monterrey, Nuevo León). She married at age 22 (1987) and moved to the U.S. for jobs. Then could not get any work, started selling tacos that his wife also prepared and ate no saled. A few months later, he was appointed as a typewriter. This type of bad lifestyle made his weight to 597 kg across (1,320 pounds). Meanwhile, his wife also left him and he was bedridden since 2001.
Update 6/29/06: Manuel Uribe successfully lost 200 pounds on a diet high in protein. Doctors are postponing plans for surgery, as Manuel is responding very well to the diet. link
